Kenyan Students Believe That Success Starts In The Classroom

In the spring of 2004, we opened our arms to the first 24 orphans to call Brittney’s Home of Grace their home. KenyaRelief.org has over 130 orphaned/vulnerable children in our care. Most are at our orphanage, Brittney’s Home of Grace, others board at the boarding school, university or are part of our home-based care program.
The children at Kenya Relief receive love, care, and stability from dorm parents who are committed to showing their kids Christ’s love, raising them to be respectful, caring, and independent citizens, growing their dreams, and enabling them to change the world for the better.
Each child receives healthy, balanced meals, medical care, and counseling from our social workers. They also attend church regularly and receive a quality education at Kenya Relief Academy.
As a speaker on mission’s trip I had the pleasure of speaking to Students at the Kenya Relief Academy. The excitement in each classroom was overwhelmingly emotional. The students had many questions about the children in America and how they compared in their everyday life. I told them that the start of fulfilling any drams is to begin where you are, although your ending may be in a totally different place.
It’s very easy to lose sight of what’s in your presence when you are striving for your future. I told them to continue to believe in themselves no matter how hard times may seem where you are located.
The students rely heavily on their faith in God which they demonstrated from the first day of our visit to the last. Those children control the church service from praise and worship to the benediction. The church service was one of the best I ever attended in my life.
My trip to Kenya turned out to be more meaningful for me than I imagined. I returned home more inspired than ever before.
