The first step to truly living a good and fearless life, is accepting responsibility for your actions. Accepting what part you had in any situation. Difficult, to say the least, but liberating. The moment you take responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you can change anything in your life. Maturity is developed by respecting others and accepting responsibility for violating that respect. Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them. Nothing will ever change while you point the finger of blame. Out of responsibility comes possibility. If you hang out with chickens, you’re going to cluck and if you hang out with eagles, you’re going to fly. Real apology requires:
1. Freely admitting fault.
2. Fully accepting responsibility.
3. Humbly asking for forgiveness.
4. Immediately changing behavior.
5. Actively rebuilding trust.
